FAQs | Working with a Content Strategy Consultant

Have questions about working with a strategy-first content marketing consultant?

You’re in the right place. Below are answers to the most common questions I get from professionals who want better marketing results.

  • Most content creators jump straight into writing. I don’t.

I start by helping you get clear on what your marketing needs to say, who it’s for, and where it needs to go. Because without a strategy, even the best content won’t move the needle.

I also bring 17+ years of marketing experience and first-hand knowledge of running a service-based business, so everything we create is rooted in strategy and reality.

  • I primarily work with solopreneurs and small business owners who sell services online—coaches, consultants, creatives, and other professionals who want to grow their client list through clear, purposeful marketing.

If you’re offering a service and want to attract more of the right clients online, we’re probably a good fit.

  • Simple and low-pressure:

    1. We start with a free 30-minute Coffee Chat to talk about your business and see if we’re a good fit.

    2. If we decide to move forward, the next step is a strategy-focused website content audit.

    3. As part of the audit, you’ll receive next-step recommendations. Then, you can decide if you’d like to implement them yourself or work together to create the content you need.

  • I get it. You're already stretched thin, and marketing can feel like one more thing on your plate.

That’s why my process is streamlined and respectful of your time. I do the heavy lifting so you can stay focused on your business. You’ll have opportunities to give feedback and review content, but we’ll keep things simple and efficient.

  • We can do that—but only if we start with strategy.

I don’t offer one-off content without first understanding the bigger picture.

If you already have a clear strategy and just need help executing it, we can discuss what that would look like. If not, we’ll start with an audit.

  • That’s totally okay. I offer a few ways to work together depending on your needs and resources:

    • Strategy Sessions – One-time consults where we develop a plan you can implement on your own.

    • Content or Website Audits – Identify what’s working, what’s missing, and where to focus.

    • Done-for-You Projects – Like lead magnets, email sequences, or website copy.

    • Ongoing Support – For clients who want consistent content creation and strategy over time.

We’ll start with a conversation to figure out what fits best.

  • You don’t have to.

We’ll focus on the channels that actually make sense for you, your audience, and your energy—whether that’s your website, email list, a few key platforms, or a mix that works on your terms.

  • I want you to feel great about the content we create together.

Every project includes two rounds of revisions. Most clients are pleased with my content when they receive it, but if you're not 100% satisfied, I'll revise it according to your specific feedback at no additional cost.

The goal is always content that feels aligned, effective, and true to your voice.

Important note: The included revisions apply to refining the approved project as originally defined. If you decide to change the project scope, target audience, or core objectives after I've begun work, this would be considered a new project with separate pricing.

  • You’re not alone. Most people who come to me have tried creating content before—but didn’t have a strategy behind it.

That’s the missing piece. Once we get clear on what to say, who to say it to, and how to say it with purpose, things start to shift.

  • Content marketing is a long-term strategy that builds momentum over time.

While some clients see an increase in inquiries within the first month of implementing new website content or email campaigns, the full benefits typically become apparent after 3-6 months of consistent effort.

The timeline depends on several factors:

    • The current state of your marketing

    • How competitive your market is

    • The types of content we implement

    • Your sales cycle length

    • How consistently the strategy is executed

I'm committed to transparency, so I won't promise overnight results. What I will promise is a sustainable approach to building your authority, visibility, and client base over time.

  • I personally write all the content for my clients. While I may use AI tools for brainstorming, to overcome writer's block, or to get out a rough first draft, all final content is human-written, edited, and refined by me.
